Womens Day 2021

It was a regular day at the office filled with back-to-back conference calls, unrealistic client requests, colleagues complaining about slow wi-fi and whining about bosses who constantly nag.  In the discreet corner of the office, near the water-cooler, which more often than not becomes a hub of office gossip and harmless banter, somebody spoke. Such things happen when the environment is conducive enough. People let their guards down and unknowingly expose their innermost, crude and lewd biases. This someone basically cribbed that Women's day is celebrated every year with such enthusiasm as against to Men's day which is a relatively low-key affair. This someone also added numerous examples of sacrifices that men make in their daily lives but which go unrecognized. Added that modern women are supposedly empowered enough with the world rooting for them. Needless to say, this somebody was a he. And then everybody in the nodded in agreement and the banter continued. I thought o...

Unity In Diversity: A Bullshit?????

A unusual title to begin my blog with but it seems that this is the only one topic about which i would like to tell a lot. Now when i hear this phrase 'UNITY IN DIVERSITY' a picture of a peaceful India comes to my mind. An India where i can see many people, each belonging to different cultures living together in harmony. At least that is what i used to write in my school days when i used to be given this topic for a composition. But times have changed. I left my school five years ago. I cannot think of a reason why my thoughts about this topic have changed drastically. Maybe it's time or it can also be that today i am more aware of India's political scenario.Well in my school days I was totally indifferent to Politics. But as i know that politics is a part and parcel of life, today i take interest in it. Now what has changed in 5 years that my long established belief in this phrase has started to blur? Is it Raj Thackrey or is it Jaipur blasts. But all these are recent incidents. What about Kashmir, what about Youth for Equality(just to recall that this was the movement started by students of AIIMS to protest against 27% reservation in centralized educational insatitutes i.e IIT and IIM), what about Kathmandu plane highjack, what about Kargil and most important what about Ayodhya and Babri masjid and '93 Mumbai blasts. All these are only a gist of all the examples which i need to make. I can write about it all day.I Know these are politically and religiously offensive statements and i do not want to hurt any one's feelings. But all these are hot topics for discussion if care little about India's political situation.Only one question pops up in my mind that "WHY?". Why are we people who say that 'God is One' quarrel over whose God is greater or stronger. Why is that a word as DALIT is still used in almost all the major newspapers? Why a particular so called CASTE is preferred over a person's real talent which is his MERIT? Why in the name of JIHAD innocent people(which includes innocent Muslims) are killed? As i believe most of us have forgot the meaning of UNITY IN DIVERSITY. I hope M.Gandhi is not watching India in this situation. I ask "Why a hardworking person from North India(I will not use Bihar and Uttar Pradesh because i think it will remind some indifferent of us that those states are still a part of our India) is forced to leave his job in West India(Maharashtra) and go to his hometown in Fear? In this scenario UNITY IN DIVERSITY is really A Bullshit and the people who believe this concept I can only pity them. Why pity? Because they deserve pity. Some person stands in front of you and tells you that in Maharashtra(specially Mumbai, but some petty incidents took place in Nashik too so mah...) only a maharashtrian can work and you listen to him. Without ever using your own brains that why a person is targeting one of the biggest name in Indian bollywood and his wife who is a member of Rajya Sabha? People open your eyes and realise that this is pure politics and no display of sympathy. What his uncle did in 1960's against the DAKSHIIN BHARATIYA( South Indians) that person is doing today against UTTAR BHARATIYA(North Indians). And the people who support him should not talk about UNITY IN DIVERSITY. See here people keep double standards. today he is using the same strategy of DIVIDE AND RULE which the Britishers used against us. Please use your conscience and think logically. Now what about Babri Mosque and Ayodhya? Some political parties say that that was their land and ruins of temple have been found. I ask where is the proof? Why bring down someone,s place of worship? Don't you respect God? They are the same people who say that God is one and they say " mera bhagwan bada hai." See the level of their mentality. They say "hame hinduon ka watt ( power or can say level of influence) batana tha." My dear there are many other ways to show your powers. Bringing down some one's place of worship and marking the beginning of a never ending enmity is of no use. At this people say "unke raja ne bhi to 500 saal pehle hamara mandir toda tha, ham kya chup chap baith jaye." My dear there should be some difference as i always say "kuch to fark hona chahiye. And why bring out what has happened 500 years ago? Who got benefit of it? In the 1993 Mumbai blasts hundreds of Hindus were also killed." But no. Seriously yar I lack in Convincing Power. But i have serious thoughts that are really necessary to bring about a change.I always try to bring about a change. I always fight. and almost all my friends are against me in this talk. But I dare to protect my views. and this blog is a serious attempt to tell everyone that lease work to bring about a change. not to follow some person who provokes you only to gain some votes.Remember it is India's National Flag that has an Orange(bhagwa) and an Green (hara) color. Whenever you salute the Tricolor remember this and try to understand the meaning beyond. remember that there is also a White color band in between and i don't need to tell that white Symbolises PEACE. Please try to make a difference. Dot put oil in Fire which has already become wild. I am sorry if I have unknowingly hurt any one's feelings by mistake. I don't intend to change your belief but I want you to believe in UNITY IN DIVERSITY. Just a thought............

  5. Hi Pratap,
hii again im Sundeep..(u dnt kno me as of yet... im a frnd of amit..intentionally i read ur block (im not really nt aware of how much ur really in to ths indian politics thing..bt seriously im not the one for it!!) but id like to make a point abut the Raj Thakrey issue.
I bet its goin a to b a long read bt dnt mind (i can only hope of that), first of all i bet u`d agree that "Words are like bullets, once fired there is no way they r goin to be bak" ,so WORDS are that commodity that are most often misinterpreted, now if u do exactly recall the speech by Mr. Raj, he didnt mean, wat he said it ws grossly misinterpreted, accordin to me he`s not against any community viz,. (north indians or to b specific biharis) hes is against a small faction amongst them & the remainin subjects are bearin the consequences of the the deeds of that small faction (mostly POLITICIANs). I like to quote wat Mr. Mulayam Singh said "UP, BIHAR to jhanki hai, Maharashtra abhi baki hai..", now WTF (sorry)does this mean, its a moral right and to some extent an obligation of an individual to b atleast concerned about his motherland/homeland or "MATRUBHUMI" (jst to add a regional fell to it) and ya as i always think its not the common man who`s involved/interested in this its jst these politicians who ar behind this.. so jst no hard feellings.
I swear man i hav gt a hell lot of thins on this to talk.. its jst that im nt very well aware of u n jst wanna kno if u really ar intrested in this.. id love to b in touch.
